Fat Joe has once again asserted that he has nothing left to prove, shedding light on the origin of one of his well-known nicknames, “Joey Crack.” On Monday (November 27), the Terror Squad boss took to Twitter to share the backstory of the moniker, dispelling the notion that it was related to drugs.

In the tweet, Fat Joe explained, “They call me Joey Crack cause the crack of my ass show whenever I stand up; girls in my hood gave me the name [laughing emoji]. It was never because of the drug crack. God is great,” he admitted.

While some fans appreciated the transparency, others felt the revelation was too much information. One follower commented, “Batman couldn’t have got this info out of me. On God, you should have kept that one to yourself, gang,” while another said, “I love you, and you’re a legend, but I would have taken this to the grave.”

Despite mixed reactions, some fans expressed their appreciation for the honesty, with one user stating, “Growing up off ’90s Hip Hop, and I never knew that. That’s actually some real shit to even admit.”

In a recent trend of artists explaining the origins of their nicknames, JAY-Z also provided context for one of his monikers, “One Take Hov.” The veteran rapper highlighted how the name stemmed from the era of recording on actual tape, emphasizing the need to deliver flawless performances in one take to avoid the complexities of tape editing.
