In a recent interview with VladTV, Fredo Bang opened up about the hung jury in YNW Melly’s double murder case, revealing that the two haven’t communicated since 2022 due to Melly losing phone privileges.

When asked if he has followed the trial, Fredo explained, “Yeah. I had to because they kept tagging my name and stuff on Twitter.” Expressing empathy for Melly’s situation, he stated, “I felt bad because I know a lot of people who have been in a situation like that, waiting years and years and years… I just felt bad for him because I know he’s ready to get it over with.”

Discussing their relationship, Fredo disclosed, “We haven’t talked in a minute because they stripped him of his phone privileges and stuff. He can’t use the phone. It’s been a very long time since I’ve talked to him.” He clarified that their last conversation occurred in the spring of 2022.

Fredo also touched on his song “Free Melly,” where he addresses receiving a subpoena in the investigation. In the lyrics, he raps, “Don’t want to talk to feds, probably got my digits/Free Melly it been love since the beginning/Talking ’bout subpoena, tell that lady I ain’t get it.” In the broader interview, Fredo expressed a desire to avoid the courtroom and emphasized his focus on his children.

YNW Melly’s first double murder trial took place in June 2023, resulting in a hung jury. The retrial, granted a delay by Broward Circuit Court Judge John Murphy, is now scheduled to begin in February. Stay tuned for further updates on Fredo Bang and developments in YNW Melly’s case.
