Lil Nas X’s recent single, “J Christ,” may have sparked criticism within Christian circles, but it seems the artist has found an unexpected ally in the Church of Satan. TMZ recently interviewed magister David Harris, the leader of the organization, who expressed his enthusiasm for the track, deeming it “fantastic” despite the backlash it has received.

According to Harris, Lil Nas X’s comparison of himself to Jesus aligns with the Church of Satan’s concept of “lesser” magic, emphasizing the influence one can have on others. He took the opportunity to dispel some misconceptions about the Church of Satan, clarifying that rather than promoting devil worship, the organization encourages members to be authentic and true to themselves.

While the Church of Satan appears to be supportive, the release of “J Christ” has triggered disapproval from various conservative groups, accusing Lil Nas X of mocking Christianity and being a Satanist. The artist has consistently denied these claims, responding on Twitter, “I’ve crossed satan up and broke his ankles, snapped his neck and literally killed him, made a song referencing the return of Jesus, and somehow y’all still think I’m a Satanist. I can not win lmaooo.” Despite the controversy, Lil Nas X remains undeterred, revealing plans for an entire gospel album in the works.

What are your thoughts on the Church of Satan’s positive reception of Lil Nas X’s new single? How do you perceive the recent backlash against him? Are you a fan of the track? Share your opinions in the comments section below.
