Post Malone Lands Role in ‘Road House’ Remake Alongside Jake Gyllenhaal
Post Malone continues to expand his repertoire, adding another movie credit to his impressive portfolio.
The versatile rapper/singer is set to appear in the upcoming remake of Road House, featuring Jake Gyllenhaal in the iconic role previously portrayed by the late Patrick Swayze. Prime Video on X, formerly known as Twitter, teased fans with a glimpse of Post Malone in character as “Carter.”
In response, Gyllenhaal took to Instagram to share a photo of himself alongside Post Malone, expressing admiration for his co-star: “A man of many talents. To say it was a pleasure working together is an understatement. Welcome to the #roadhouse @postmalone!”
This isn’t Post Malone’s first foray into the world of feature films. In 2021, he appeared alongside Jason Statham in Guy Ritchie’s action-thriller Wrath of Man. In the film, Post Malone portrayed a villain who clashes with Statham’s character during a heist gone wrong.
Wrath of Man, a remake of the 2004 French film Cash Truck, premiered in theaters on May 7, 2021, boasting an ensemble cast including Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, and Josh Hartnett.
Post Malone’s acting credits also include a voice cameo in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and his visual acting debut in the 2020 action-comedy Spenser Confidential, alongside Mark Wahlberg.
In an interview with Variety, Wahlberg praised Post Malone’s acting chops, recounting how he convinced the director to cast him in Spenser Confidential. Despite initial skepticism, Post Malone impressed everyone on set with his performance, showcasing his versatility as both a musician and actor.
