Uganda Premier League side Maroons FC were stunned and eliminated from the Stanbic Uganda Cup by the lowly ranked Busei FC after a 1-0 defeat.

The result came as a shock given Maroons’ brilliant form in the Uganda Premier League, where they sit fourth with 28 points in 15 games.

In action elsewhere, nine-time champions SC Villa sailed through to the next round after a dominant 4-0 victory over SC Tawai.

Aslem Semakula, Elvis Ngonde, Abas Kyeyune and Charles Lwanga scored for the Jogoo to ease past Tawai.

On the other hand, NEC survived a scare to squeeze through to the next round after a 2-1 win over Northern Division FC.

Captain Marvin Kavuma and forward Brian Kayanja scored for the Army side on the evening.

Another UPL side, UPDF FC, got eliminated after a 1-0 defeat to Pajule Lions FC.
