Stanbic Uganda Cup: Vipers Beat Lugazi Stars To Reach Round Of 32

Holders Vipers SC came from a goal down to overcome Lugazi Stars 2-1 in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64 tie that was played at Mehta Grounds in Lugazi on Monday.

Second half goals from Milton Karisa and Allan Okello were enough to send Livingstone Mbabazi’s charges into the round of 32.

Saidi Khalifan had given the host the lead in the 39th minute of the game.

The Venoms restored parity immediately after the recess through their captain Karisa.

In the 55th minute, Okello netted his first goal in Vipers SC colours to complete a comeback victory.

Soltilo Bright Stars also advanced to the round of 32 with a 1-0 win over Odramachaku FC while Acholi United FC eliminated Big League side Lugazi FC.

Young Simba FC also sealed a place into the next round with a 1-0 win away to Medical FC.

They join KCCA FC, SC Villa, Wakiso Giants, NEC FC Busei FC, Pajule Lions, Nsambya FC and Dove FC into the round of 32.
