Ty Dolla $ign has offered a sneak peek into his upcoming collaborative album with Kanye West by unveiling the tracklist on Friday (December 8). The handwritten note posted on Instagram includes 16 titles, featuring the already released “Vultures” featuring Bump J and the once-shelved fan favorite “New Body.”
Accompanying the tracklist is a doodle of the doubled-headed eagle emblem, which Kanye has recently been sporting. Some have interpreted it as a modification of the German coat of arms, formerly used by Nazi Germany until 1935, drawing attention to Kanye’s recent controversy surrounding anti-Semitic remarks.
Coinciding with the album’s tracklist release, Kanye shared a snippet of a new song on social media, where he can be seen wearing the symbol on his jacket. The clip is likely an excerpt from the opening track, given that the first entry on Ty Dolla $ign’s list shares the same name as The Backstreet Boys’ hit, “Everybody.”
Two months ago, Ty Dolla $ign revived “New Body,” a collaboration with Kanye West and Nicki Minaj that was originally scrapped, during a club performance in Florence, Italy. The song, intended for Kanye’s planned Yandhi album in 2019, faced delays and eventual shelving, with Nicki Minaj explaining how Kanye’s shift to a gospel album led to the song’s fate.
Nicki Minaj disclosed that she had to rewrite her “New Body” verse four times to align with Kanye’s creative and spiritual direction at the time. Despite being a fan-favorite and dubbed the “biggest hit record that never came out,” the track didn’t see the light of day due to the timing mismatch with Kanye’s evolving musical style.
