Uganda Hippos Midfielder Joins European Side

Uganda Hippos and Soltilo Bright Stars midfielder Ivan Irinimbabazi has completed a move to Pierikos FC in Greece.

The workaholic midfielder has signed a two-year employment contract with the North side club from Uganda Premier League club Soltilo Bright Stars.

Irinimbabazi who was graduated from the Soltilo Bright Stars Junior Team to the senior team in October 2021, made five appearances for Soltilo Bright Stars this season.

On Sunday 14th January, 2023, the tackler made his debut with Pierikos in a 1-all draw against Thyella Katdika in a league game.

Pierikos FC plays in the third division and are currently fifth on the table.

Making 20 years on 1st February this year, Irinimbabazi has featured for the Uganda U17, U20 and recently summoned on the senior national team the Uganda Cranes.

Nicknamed ‘Carvajal’ Irinimbabazi started his football career at Youth Path Academy in Makerere and has a dream of playing in La Liga.
