Uganda Cranes forward Denis Omedi was at his ruthless-most as he netted a stunning second-half hattrick to guide  Kitara FC past UPDF FC at the Bombo Military Grounds on Saturday.

Omedi netted in the 57th, 65th and 88th minutes to remind any doubters of quality with the goal in sight.

The goals took his season tally to seven in the league, three adrift of top-scorer Nelson Senkatuka.

He also granted head coach Brian Ssenyondo victory on his first return to UPDF since his exit towards the start of the campaign.

Meanwhile, the victory took Kitara to second on the UPL log with 32 points, two behind leaders BUL FC.

They will continue their pursuit of glory when they host record-holder SC Villa next Friday.

On the other hand, the result spelt more doom for UPDF, who stayed second from bottom with just nine points in 16 matches.

They will visit David Obua’s URA FC in their next match on Tuesday.
