VIJAHN, originally born Anthony Edwards in Kingston, Jamaica, has emerged as a prominent figure in the reggae scene, blending the roots influences of legends like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Culture with the dynamic deliveries reminiscent of dancehall veterans Sizzla, Capleton, and Bounty Killa. Raised in Portland, Edwards penned his first song at the age of eight, marking the beginning of a musical journey that has seen him perform in local schools and churches.

At the age of nineteen, influenced by Rastafari, Edwards adopted the name VIJAHN, placing “JAH” at the core of his identity. In 2015, he made waves by breaking into the Top 10 of the JCDC Festival Competition with the track “Move to the Bassline,” in collaboration with Mikey Moa Chung. The following year, Mango Tree Entertainment witnessed the release of “Kunta Kinte Pickney,” earning VIJAHN the title of “KUNTA WARRIOR.”

In 2017, VIJAHN shared the “Nana-Gel” riddim with reggae heavyweights Capleton, Lutan Fyah, and Fanton Mojah through the release of “Mash Down Rome.” His diverse musical journey continued with performances on Elise Kelly’s “Heart, Mind, and Soul” on IRIE FM, showcasing his fiery vocal approach.

VIJAHN’s accolades include winning Red Stripe’s Kingston “Big Buss” competition and lighting up the stage at the 2018 Reggae Sumfest. Over the years, he has released impactful tracks like “Herbs Skanking,” “Feeling Irie” (2021), and “Dark Street” (2022), sharply criticizing social injustices.

Beyond the Caribbean, VIJAHN has graced stages in the U.S.A. and is actively involved in the reggae scene in Linstead, Jamaica, through his “Kunta Warriah Productions,” hosting “Fyaah Wednesdays” to showcase local talent and attract international artists. His festival performances include noteworthy events like Capleton’s “A St. Mary Mi Come From,” Bling Dog’s Summer Jam, and Stars in Action.

Additionally, he is in the process of developing a full-length LP, ensuring that his powerful messages and captivating melodies continue to reach global audiences.
