Arsenal secured a convincing Champions League victory over a lackluster Sevilla as Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka scored in a dominating performance at home.

Trossard, deputizing as the number nine in the absence of injured Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, struck in the 29th minute, skillfully guiding Arsenal into the lead. Saka added to the tally in the 64th minute with a well-taken goal, sealing the three points for the Gunners.

With this win, Arsenal tops Group B with nine points from four games, while Sevilla languishes at the bottom of the table, still seeking their first win in this Champions League season.

The Spanish side, champions of the Europa League last season, faced a comprehensive defeat, unable to match the hosts’ pace and quality. Trossard capitalized on Saka’s low cross to put Arsenal ahead after an excellent through-ball from Jorginho set up the play.

Saka, the provider for the first goal, turned into a finisher with a composed second goal, extending Arsenal’s lead after being played in by Gabriel Martinelli.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised his team’s performance, commending their aggression and commitment, especially in regaining possession after losing the ball. However, the game ended on a slightly worrying note as Saka left the field with an ankle injury in the closing minutes, with Arteta downplaying it as a “knock.”

While PSV’s 1-0 win over Lens prevented Arsenal from securing a spot in the last 16, Arteta’s side requires just one point from their upcoming matches against Lens or PSV to qualify.

Despite a strong start to the season, Arsenal faced a challenging week with consecutive losses and injury concerns. However, Trossard’s performance allayed fears about the team’s forward line, and Arteta seemed content with the overall performance against Sevilla.
