Blac Youngsta’s Brother’s Suspected Killer Arrested by Memphis Police
The Memphis Police Department has made a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the August 2023 murder of Blac Youngsta’s brother, as their prime suspect has been apprehended.
Randy Darnell Ewing Jr., aged 28, was taken into custody on Tuesday night (February 13) in a coordinated effort between the Memphis Fire Department’s Fugitive team and U.S. Marshals, reported CBS-affiliate WREG.
The arrest occurred without incident, although Ewing was armed at the time. He sustained a bite wound from a K9 officer during his arrest and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment before being transferred to Shelby County Jail.
Ewing had been a suspect in the case since the shooting death of Tomanuel Benson at a BP gas station in Memphis on August 18. He was wanted on an open warrant for charges including second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and a firearm offense.
Originally facing a single count of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder, the charges against Ewing were later amended.
Blac Youngsta’s brother was discovered unconscious near a Valero B.P. gas station and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Regional One Hospital.
Following the tragic incident, Blac Youngsta vowed to seek justice for his brother, expressing his determination on social media. He declared, “I Love U My Baby Brother Rest Up… I’m Gone Make The World Pay. I Swear To God. Nobody Safe. Standing Over Everybody. Everybody. 4LIFE.”
Unfortunately, Blac Youngsta is not the only artist from the CMG label mourning the loss of a sibling. Yo Gotti, the label’s boss, also experienced the tragic death of his brother Anthony “Big Jook” Mims on January 13. Big Jook was fatally shot in what authorities believe was a targeted attack shortly after attending a friend’s funeral.
