After nearly four decades, E-40 has earned his college degree, but the Bay Area legend is still imparting lessons — even on Twitter. The incident unfolded when the Rap Daily Twitter account posted an old photo captioned, “Frank Ocean and E40 sitting courtside at the Rockets game.” E-40 quickly set the record straight, pointing out that it was not Frank Ocean but Houston rapper Chamillionaire in the picture, and that the photo was from a March 2019 game.

Despite the correction, Rap Daily responded by acknowledging both artists as legends and hinted that the initial post was intended as a joke.

When questioned about his views on the current state of Hip Hop music, E-40 expressed his dissatisfaction, citing a lack of creativity and a prevalence of similar sounds among new artists. He emphasized the importance of storytelling in music and urged young artists to focus on cautionary tales rather than promoting crime and gang violence.

“I’m not tryna act like I’m hella positive,” E-40 explained. “But I am because I’m a storyteller. The things that sound like they ain’t positive, I talk about the repercussions and consequences if you do this. I’m a storyteller.”
