Future and Metro Boomin have once again captivated the rap industry with their latest album, “WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU”. This new release closely follows their previous chart-topper, “WE DON’T TRUST YOU”, which featured influential collaborations with Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, The Weeknd, Rick Ross, and a standout verse from Kendrick Lamar. In a particularly bold move, Lamar’s lyrics in the hit song “Like That” openly targeted fellow rappers J. Cole and Drake, propelling the track to lead the Hot 100 for consecutive weeks.
Their newest album dropped unexpectedly and is teeming with fresh tracks that have quickly dominated online discussions. Notable features include J. Cole and A$AP Rocky. Amid the collection, a track titled “This Sunday,” which initially leaked in 2015, has resurfaced with significant buzz. It’s noteworthy for containing a precursor to the chorus of Drake’s “Feel No Ways”, hinting at unresolved tensions between Future and Drake, once close collaborators.
In a twist, J. Cole, on a guest track from the initial album, seems to address his previous spat with Kendrick Lamar, although it remains unclear if his verse was a direct response to their recent discord or recorded earlier. Over the weekend, Cole leveraged his Dreamville festival as a platform to retract his remarks and extend an apology to Kendrick.
As fans delve into the origins of “Feel No Ways” on this new album, speculation abounds regarding the state of Future and Drake’s relationship. What are your thoughts on this release and the potential discord hinted at between these artists? Share your opinions in the comments below.
