The Ivory Coast national team has parted ways with Jean-Louis Gasset. Despite being considered favorites in their home tournament, the two-time champions suffered a 1-0 loss to Nigeria and a comprehensive 4-0 defeat to Equatorial Guinea, leading to uncertainty about their progress. Players like Willy Boly, Franck Kessie, Ibrahim Sangare, and Nicolas Pepe started in the disappointing performance. Gasset, unable to provide answers after the defeat, stated, “When you have a scenario like that, bordering on a nightmare, there’s not much you can say or do.”
