Andre Onana’s AFCON experience takes a sour turn as he clashes with Cameroon Football Association president Samuel Eto’o. Their disagreement echoes tensions from the 2022 World Cup, revolving around Cameroon’s playing style. Onana, upset about being benched by manager Rigobert Song, confronted Eto’o, but failed to justify his selection. Missing Cameroon’s opener for Man United, he rejoined for a defeat against Senegal and found himself on the bench against Gambia. With Cameroon advancing to the Round of 16, the spotlight shifts to Onana’s cousin, Fabrice Ondoa, potentially taking over the goalkeeping duties.
