Kira Police Probes Tragic Deaths of Couple in Bweyogerere Amidst Suspected Domestic Violence”

Detectives from the Kira Police Division are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a couple residing in the Kireku Railway Zone, Bweyogerere Division, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.

On the night of January 23, 2024, around 11:00 PM, Defense Secretary Mr. Waiswa Latif received reports from concerned residents about a locked house showing visible signs of blood.

Acting promptly, Mr. Latif, accompanied by Bweyogerere Police, discovered the lifeless bodies of Acen Jesca (29) and Ogwal Kenneth (28) after gaining access to the residence. The couple’s demise is suspected to be a result of domestic violence, as suggested by statements from neighbors and the discovery of a knife believed to be the murder weapon.

The bodies have been transported to KCCA Mortuary Mulago for a comprehensive postmortem examination. “Preliminary findings indicate multiple fresh wounds around Acen Jesca’s neck, while Ogwal Kenneth, presumed to be the assailant, had a cut around his neck. The crime scene reflects a violent struggle, with bloodstains evident on the mattress,” disclosed ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police.

Owoyesigyire stressed that Kira Division Police are fully committed to conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances leading to this unfortunate incident
