“As a religious man and a community leader, I think it is high time Uganda had free and fair elections—without beating, intimidation, or imprisoning dissenting voices,” Rev. Rev. Jjumba also spoke candidly about leadership, stressing that Uganda needs leaders who work for all people, not a select few. “Uganda needs good leadership—leadership that serves the nation as a whole,” he said, adding that true democracy must allow equal political participation.

Raising concerns over the electoral process, Rev. Jjumba revealed that opposition leaders are reportedly being blocked from campaigning freely—an issue he noted is inconsistent with democratic practices in other countries. He described this as a troubling sign that undermines public trust and the credibility of elections.
