Doja Cat stole the spotlight at the 2024 Grammys with her bold fashion choice and added intrigue with some fresh ink. The Scarlet rapper graced the Los Angeles awards show on Sunday (February 4) in a striking, mostly see-through dress that unveiled various tattoos across her body.

One prominent tattoo on Doja’s forehead showcased the name “Dilara Findikoglu,” the Turkish-British fashion designer responsible for crafting her unique dress. Another on her cheek displayed “Akermo,” a renowned Swedish tattoo artist known for working with high-profile clients in sports and entertainment. Additional tattoos included a cathedral across her chest and a sun on her throat.

While Doja Cat’s dress provocatively revealed portions of her nipples, her attention-grabbing tattoos complemented the outfit. Notably, the 28-year-old rapper received three Grammy nominationsā€”for Best Rap Song (“Attention”), Best Melodic Rap Performance (“Attention”), and Best Pop Solo Performanceā€”but unfortunately, she did not secure a win in any category.

Although unconfirmed, it appears the tattoos are not permanent, as Doja Cat posted a photo on Friday (February 2) without the additional ink. Despite the potential temporary nature of the tattoos, the “Paint the Town Red” artist has already accumulated a considerable amount of ink since getting her first tattoo in 2022.

One of her recent tattoos is a large bat on her back, inspired by themes of death. Doja Cat shared a screenshot explaining the symbolism of bats, stating that they often represent letting go of the old, transitioning, and initiating new beginnings.

Notably, some of Doja Cat’s tattoos have faced criticism, particularly one featuring a scaled animal combined with female genitalia. Expressing concerns about potential demonic influence, a critic questioned the purpose of creating music that isn’t considered timeless. Doja Cat responded sarcastically with “Slay girl yas.” Another critic accused her of engaging in a ritual with demonic elements, to which she replied, “Honestly werk.”
